PRAMS is a survey about a woman's health and life experiences before, during and after pregnancy.

Established in 1987

It is a joint research project between the state departments of health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Reproductive Health

All Arizona

residents that delivered

a

live birth in Arizonaa

are eligible to participate. 3 months after their delivery, around 200 women will be asked to participate in Arizona PRAMS each month.Follow up with them with multiple mail and telephone attempts.Bilingual materials and staff (English and Spanish)

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

low birth weight, preterm birth, and perinatal death, and adverse maternal health outcomes

.Maryland PRAMS data (2011) revealed that 7.2% of Maryland mothers reported being physically abused by a current or former partner either during or in the year prior to pregnancy.  

Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) established a

Maryland IPV Task Force

To facilitate IPV assessment among clinicians, members of the Task Force developed a

three-question

screening

that includes resources for immediate referral.
