Objective

Utilize an open, inclusive, and transparent public process to review all available tools to address affordable housing and to develop specific recommendations for City Council consideration.Slide6

Scope of Project

Evaluate tools to address affordable housing and determine those appropriate for Forest Grove.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

Increasing permitted development density

Accessory dwelling units & tiny houses

Reducing parking requirements

Permit fee waivers or reduction

Evaluate techniques to overcome barriers to affordable housing and determine those methods appropriate for Forest Grove. Examples include, but are not limited to:

Density

Land supply

Lack of housing services

Reluctance of some property owners to accept Section 8 vouchers

Recommend possible amendments to the City codes to address low and moderate income housing and/or new ordinances to establish new fees to help subsidize affordable housing;Slide8
