Top Tips

Visit as many of the schools as

possible

Have questions ready to ask at the

visit

Gauge your child’s reaction to each of the

schools

There is

no

first preference any more

.

There is not a tactical game to be played

.

Look at each school’s admission oversubscription criteriaSlide10

Kent Test assessment decisions posted to parents:

th

October

Email sent after 4pm

First class letter postedSlide11

Headteacher’s

Appeals

Appeals will only be made where the children have missed out narrowly by one or two

marks

or

if a child has significantly underachieved in the test and the school has plenty of evidence to support their appeal.

Actual scores will be available from school from the 14

th

OctoberSlide12

SCAF

FORMS

applying for a

Secondary School place

SCAF Forms to be

completed online by 31

st

October 2016

www.kent.gov.uk/ola

It is possible to edit the online form up until the deadline

Paper copy of SCAF is availableSlide13

Put at least 3 schools on the form (maximum of 4) in rank order or preference. Schools do not know which order you put them in.

If your child was not entered for or did not pass the Grammar Test but you still feel a Grammar place is the best place for them, put a Grammar School on the form. A Grammar School place won’t be awarded on 1

st

March but you will have the right to appealSlide14

Supplementary Information Form (SIF) must be in by 31st

October too.

Fulston

Manor require you to complete an additional form. (10% of places allocated for pupils with strengths in Sport or Music)

These forms are available from the schools’ themselves.Slide15
