First Generations students were MORE LIKELY to indicate they were enrolled for Career Purposes. First Generations students were LESS LIKELY to indicate they were enrolled for higher or additional degrees and because their parents wanted them to . First Generation F.I.T RecommendationsImprove data collection and analysis of information related to first generation students at Chaffey College and the college’s service area.Cultivate a sense of community for First Generation students at Chaffey College . Improve knowledge and awareness of college related processes . Strengthen and expand existing specialized services targeting first generation students. Ensure the resources and services for students are uniform across all three campuses in the district; especially in the areas of DPS, counseling, and admissions and records. Expand services (both instructional and student services) at Chino and Fontana. Educate faculty and staff on the unique needs of first generation college students.
