What happened?

Americans learned that the British were taking over the hills around Boston.

The British attacked the Americans forts

Outcome and Significance

The British won the battle

with the

cost of 268 British soldiers and 800 wounded

The Americans had 115

soldiers dead and 305 wounded

This battle gave the Americans

confidence

and

helped them believe that

they could

stand
