rg, PA 17120 | 717∙787∙6899 | www.penndot.gov DATE:January 19, 2021SUBJECT:evised Form TE160: Application for Traffic Signal ApprovalTO:District ExecutivesFROM:T Jay Cunningham, P.E., ActingDirectorBureau of Maintenance and OperationsThis Strikeoff Letter (SOL), effective immediately, is timesourcedecreasing and improves PennDOT’s project development process by updating Form TE: Application for Traffic Signal Approval. This SOL rescinds and replaces SOL 47014 issued on November 8, 2012 The revised TE160 aligns with the new Municipal Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreements introduced in the 1220 edition of Publication 191, Traffic Signal Maintenance Manual. The new agreements will cover all traffic signals within the municipality. Form TE160 has been streamlined to only include information relevant to individual traffic signals and does not duplicate information contained in the Municipal Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement. This SOL will reduce both time and costs to PennDOT and local governments by reducing paperwork and eliminating theneed for a municipal resolution if the individual signing the TE160 is the individual identified when the municipalitywide maintenance agreement is executed.ending traffic signal applications which havealready completed a TE160 form usingthe 6version are not required to use the new version.
