Radu Mihailescu obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economic Sciences at the University of Port Elizabeth and his Master of Commerce degree in Travel and Tourism Economics at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Radu is currently in the final stages of obtaining his PhD in Resource and Tourism Economics at NMMU. Radu started his academic career as lecturer of Economics and study coordinator at the University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. In 2008 he mo ved to Italy where he taught Microeconomics at the Free University of Bolzano and was also appointed senior lecturer of Economics and Tourism at the University of Malta. Radu continued his career at Stenden South Africa as senior lecturer and module coordi nator and then moved back to Europe to take up a position at Stenden University in Leeuwarden. Besides working at Stenden, Radu is a member of the International Association for Tourism Economics (IATE) and the American Associate of Wine Economists (AAWE). Radu has published several articles in scientific journals as well as a book entitled Cost Benefit Analysis of Charter Airlines.
