WESTERN REGIONAL JUNIOR ANGUS SHOW Reno Livestock Events Center Reno, Nevada April 16 - 18, 2021 2021 The 68 th Western National Angus Futurity and 47 th Western Regional Junior Angus Show excitement will be at an all - time high as we celebrate in Reno, Nevada on April 16 - 18, 2021. The 2021 edition promises to be one of the best junior Angus events ever. Your opportunity to complete, develop friendships and visit with juniors from throughout the West is just around the corner. Mark your calendar for April 16 - 18 and plan to be with us for this exiting and fun event. Please note all the specific information for the show in this section. You will also need to r eview the General Rules as they apply to all the shows listed in this booklet and on the NJAA website. Applications for registrations and transfers of ownership must be recorded in the sole name of the exhibitor and postmarked by March 1 5 , 2021. NO LATE TRANSFERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. The entry of $50 per head plus $30 for bedding per head must accompany the entry form. This entry fee includes the bedding in the barns. Check with your local veterinarian for rules concerning entering the s tate of Nevada and returning to your home state. If you have any questions about this you may call the Nevada State Veterinarian’s office at (775) 353 - 3718. Please note the trucking and brand inspection papers needs. Blanket health permit will be available on the WNAF website following the first of the year. Note: The state of Nevada requires a test for Trichinosis on bulls. A complete set of health rules will be sent in the confirmation letter. SCHOLARSHIPS All scholarships have a deadline of March 15th of the current year and are awarded in Reno at the Western Regional Junior Angus Show. The three scholarships offered are: 1. Western States Perpetuating Memorial Scholarship - one $250 award is given. Eligibility: Junior member of the American Angus Association who has exhibited in the Western Regional Junior Angus Show and resides in a participating member state (ID, OR, WA , UT, MT, AK, CA, AZ, NV). Applicant must be a graduating senior. The application consists of writing a 250 word essay. Contact: Kathleen Buchanan (541) 883 - 8471 or buchananangus@hughes.net for more details. 2. Western States Angus Auxiliary Scholarship - two awarded at $500 each. Eligibility: Junior member of the American Angus Association who has exhibited in the Western Regional Junior Angus Show and resides in a participating member state (ID, OR, WA, UT, MT, AK, CA, AZ, NV). The Western States Angus Auxiliary & Grand Sierra Hotel Education Scholarship - one $500 award is given. Eligibility: Junior member of the American Angus Association who has exhibited in the Western Regional Junior Angus Show and resides in a participating member state (ID, OR, WA, UT, MT, AK, CA, AZ, NV). This scholarship is open to an individual who is in their 2nd - 5th year of college, trade school or other higher education system.
