Inspired by my father and his “Swing Kids”, I have followed my passion of ying the ag for classic, ear-ly jazz with an almost missionary zeal. I have been tireless in collecting jazz records and books, and have further supported my aims through founding the , through publications and re-recordings, and by helping to build up collections, as well as much more. My dedication to early jazz has never been with a view to economic gain, but is motivated solely by my love for the music and my great admiration of the musicians.The time has now come to focus my efforts on a project that I began 15 years ago and that I wish to preser-ve from being forgotten. This project has to do with the , which was hosted by the great disc , and which consists of around 1,500 half-hour radio shows on classic, early jazz, as played from 1917 through 1947. These jazz programs were broadcast every week on over 200 radio was one of the most popular US radio programs of all time. Many years ago, I received the complete set of programs on 1,500 cassette tapes from the University of Michigan and Hazen Schumacher himself.
