LC officially launched
Library of Congress Medium of Performance Thesaurus for Music
(LCMPT) on February 24, 2014.
Approximately 800 terms.
Includes most of the medium terms currently in LCSH, as well as some new terms.
Can be used in authority and bibliographic records in the 382 field.
Eventually to be a replacement for the LCSH subject headings that include medium and are used as genre/form terms.
Generally singular, not capitalized.

MLA is developing some provisional best practices for using LCMPT that will be out shortly

Additions or changes to LCMPT should be submitted through the SACO Music Funnel.
