It is a system used throughout the European Union to classify a range of entertainment content including video and computer games and mobile devices.There are two parts to each classification; the age category the descriptors for the content. Age the categories are: 3, 7, 12, 16, 18 and relate to the minimum age suitable for the content (it has nothing to do with the skill level of the gameDescriptors there are eight content descriptors: violence, bad language, fear, sexual content/nudity, drugs, discrimination, gambling and online gaming content .What else do I need to know? Retailers are the only people who by law have to follow the PEGI system. They cannot sell games to anyone who is not the correct age (age ratings for 12, 16 and 18), otherwise if caught they will be prosecuted, fined and even receive a prison sentence.
