1. Towards more efficient and inclusive microelectronics talent pipelines

2. METIS at a glanceA Sector Skills Alliance, co-funded by Erasmus+Lot 3: implementing a new strategic approach (“Blueprint”) to sectoral cooperation on skills4-year project, launched in November 2019Budget EUR 4,000,000Fully aligned with EU frameworks (ESCO, EQF)Aiming to bridge the microelectronics skills gapEnhancing the visibility of microelectronics as a professional option

3. Main outcomesINNOVATIVE METHODMETIS deploys innovative methods, breaking the traditional silos approach that led to the disconnect between industry and training.INNOVATIVE RESULTSThe project introduces new concepts:A comprehensive Microelectronics Skills Strategy, which will incorporate research on anticipation of skill needs and foresight exercises. The consortium will define innovative Occupational Profiles and skillsets. Finally, METIS will deliver through a joint industry-VET process an innovative Curriculum and Training for the microelectronics sector, combining blended and work-based learning.INNOVATIVE APPROACHESKey novelty of METIS is that it establishes the Permanent Microelectronics Observatory and Skills Council that brings together industry, education & training, social partners and policy makers.
