Key changesInternal medicine stage 1 is a three year programme which will deliver the following improvements:supported transition to the medical registrar rolea more structured programme with mandatory training in geriatric medicine, critical care and outpatients longer placements in internal medicine year 3 (IMY3) to provide more continuity in trainingsimulation based learninga programme of assessment which is holistic and intuitiveadditional time in which to gain MRCP(UK) if needed
