early teaching years I was a Special Police Inspector which now enables and supports me to lead a weekly Police Horizons session for all students who may be interested in a career in policing. I have in the past supported students through their application who have then gained successful access into the police.

I worked for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service within their Community Engagement team primarily working with young people who were "at risk" of offending. After this I went on to teach Public Services, I have been doing this for 6 years.
