Course Aims: The course aims to examine the underlying principles governing the structuring of construction contracts. Methods of settling construction disputes will be introduced. Issues related to professional ethics and standard will be examined. Assessment Tasks/Activities: Coursework: 50% Examination: 50% (Examination duration = 3 hours) To pass a course, a student must obtain minimum marks of 30% in both coursework and examination components, and an overall mark of at least 40% CILO No. Type of assessment tasks/activities Weighting (if applicable) Remarks CILO 1 With regard to specific topics, questions in the examination shall be the pivotal assessment vehicle to evaluate the achievement of the ILO by the students. --- Examination assessment (50%) shall be directed to evaluate the achievement of CILOs on both the technical content as well as the ability to integrate and relate topics addressed. 10% of coursework assessment is directed for discovery of contractual issues through student-led tutorial presentations.
