What is AIMS?  A brief assessment that measures the overall performance of key founda�onal skills at each grade level.  E�ciently screens all students, iden�fying those at risk for academic failure and enabling early  Uses General Outcome Measurement assessments, which are simple, accurate, valid, reliable, e�cient and generalizable. K/1 LITERACY ASSESSM ENT AIMS  Teachers assess students 3 �mes per year: beginning, middle, and end of terms.  Teachers use results of assessments to create goals for the students.  The results provide immediate data for the Learning Coaches and students to target areas of How is the assessment administered? Standardized tests that are given, scored, and interpreted in a standard way Assessments are given three �mes per year (ini�al (I), mid - year (M), �nal(F))  AIMS is a reliable and valid indicator of student achievement.  AIMS is a simple, e�cient, and of short dura�on to facilitate frequent administra�on by teachers.  AIMS provides assessment informa�on that helps teachers plan be�er instruc�on.  AIMS is sensi�ve to the improvement of students’ achievement over �me.  AIMS is easily understood by teachers and parents. Kindergarten Le�er Naming Fluency (I, M, F) Le�er Sound Fluency (M, F) 1 st Grade One minute assessments to gauge student knowledge of le�ers and le�er sounds (capital and lower case) Le�er Sound Fluency (I, M, F) 2 nd /3 rd Grade (Op�onal - given at discre�on of the Homeroom teacher based on student needs) Reading Fluency (I, M, F)
