Fuel managementSlide2
Fuel usage
A light motor vehicle uses around 10 litres per 100km. (10km to the litre)Heavy Goods vehicles can use up to 50 litres per hundred km. (2km to the litre)For a company to remain viable many long haul trucks drive up to 10 hours a shift.
This could mean fuel usage of 400 litres per day.
The usage would translate to a conservative R86 000 per month.
This in turn translates to over R1 million per year.Slide3
Losses
Remember fuel is a commodity.Even a tiny loss of 1% on a HGV would mean losses of R10 000 a year.
In reality the losses can be much greater.Another more serious problem can
be under estimating the fuel used to
do a delivery.
This can result in massive under quoting
or repeated losses, which could cost you
your business.Slide4
If using cash to fill up
We have had the following tricks reported to us:Driver is given a fixed amount of cash to add fuel.
Eg R200Asks attendant for a R200 slip which is easy to obtain as there are many R200 transactions.
Driver tells attendant to add R150 fuel, bring R40 change and keep R10
Losses on a light motor vehicle doing
100km/day will add up to R8110 per year
Your driver is using the petrol tank
as his personal ATMSlide5
When using cards to fill up
The slip will indicate the actual fuel dispensed
But does it all go in your tank?
Is it
syphoned
out later?
Is a drainage system used?Slide6
We have the solution
Digit Fuel ManagerWorks in conjunction with Digit Vehicle Tracking
Gives you a fuel information on your logbookUpdates via SMS of fuel theft or fuel added
Map indication of where fuel was added or stolen
Graph of fuel for the day Slide7
How does it work
Fuel Tank Level Sensor (TLS) fitted to the tank
Digit device fitted to the vehicleTLS connects to the
Digit system
Software gives fuel

Custom fuel reports

Consider your options
For a once off fee of less than two tanks of fuel. (Based on a 200 litre tank)The installation will cost you only once and you will start to save immediately.Monthly will cost you less than 9 litres of fuelPotential saving is HUGE
