3. What is Puberty?Time of change from child to adultPhysical changesEmotional changes

4. When does puberty start and why?Puberty begins when youth arebetween 8-15 years oldThe brain sends a signal to the reproductive organs to produce hormonesThese hormones cause physical and emotional changes

9. Soap/Body WashYou may want to shower or bathe more often once puberty begins.During puberty:Skin becomes oilier, can cause acneBody sweats moreBody odourDon’t pop or squeeze pimples!Washing your face with mild soap 1-2 times a day can help with acne

10. Deodorant/AntiperspirantDeodorant helps control odourAntiperspirant reduces sweatCombination products availableSome people start to use deodorant/antiperspirant when puberty begins, it is applied to underarms in the morning or after showering.

11. LaundryYou may need to wash your clothesmore often when puberty begins.Sweat and oil stick to clothesBacteria cause clothes tosmell when not washed regularlyUnderwear, socks and shirts cover the sweatiest parts.Make sure they’re fresh every day!

12. Toothbrush and Dental FlossBrush your teeth for 2 minutes 2 timesa day.Prevent cavitiesGet rid of bacteria that causes bad breathUse a pea-sized amount of toothpasteDon’t forget to floss every day too!
