Request for Proposal Consultancy: Socio Economic Baseline Study Conservation International Suriname (CI Suriname) is looking for a consultant for a Socio Economic Baseline in Tepu to execut e project activities for a period of 3 months. For a potential Conservation Agreement in Tepu it is necessary to gather baseline information that will allow CI staff to acquire a much better understanding of, and appreciation for, the Indigenous way of life in Tepu. And how to work with the co mmunity of Tepu to develop a set of individual - level, household - level, community - level, and project - level indicators that can be used for annual monitoring of a potential livelihood project in Tepu. The objective of the consultancy is to gather the necessary baseline in formation to facilitate effective conservation and sustainable development interventions at the community level based in Tepu for a potential Conservation Agreement. This baseline focusses specificall y on the human population, and less on ecological factor s. Timeline & Deliverables # Activity Deliverables/reports Due dates 1 Submit Workplan - Workplan + Research instruments to gather information & a community data sheet November 1 3 , 2020 2 Prepare and conduct field activities in Tepu Draft Report December 30, 2020 3 Validation meeting in Tepu Report revisions Submit final Report including: - List of indicators with instructions for measurement - Report of validation meeting January 30 , 2020 Requirements Applicant should meet the following requirements: • A relevant master’s degree or higher in a social science. • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Socio Economic Baseline Assessments with Indigenous communities in Suriname. • Dutch and English proficiency, both in speaking and writing. • Sra nan Tongo speaking, and writing are a pre. Selection Criteria • Overall quality of CV and Cover Letter – 3 pts • Education Requirement - 3 pts • Work Experience Requirement - 3 pts • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to effectively convey complex details or technical information - 3 pt s • Experience with similar projects - 3 pts • Understanding of the challenges and cultural background of Indigenous communit ies - 3 pts • English proficiency, both in speaking and writing - 3 pts • Highly familiar employing cultural awareness and sensitivity - 3 pts • Comprehensive technical proposal on how to measure socio economic baseline studies - 3 pts • Budget – 3 pts Interested?
