PO Box 18, James Cook University Post Office 1 James Cook Drive, web tsv-ultimate.com Douglas, QLD, 4811 email townsvilleultimate@gmail.com ABN: 78 391 186 694 Youth Participation in Townsville Ultimate Events Policy, Guidelines and Parental/Guardian Consent OVERVIEW Townsville Ultimate Disc Inc. (TUDI) runs regular competitions catering for the Ultimate playing community of Townsville and surrounding districts. Whilst these competitions are designed to offer playing opportunities for players of different physical abilities and levels of experience, they are in the main focussed on open/adult players. It is recognised that youth players (under 18 years old) may desire to participate in these events. TUDI would like to offer opportunities to include these youth players in these Ultimate competitions where it is appropriate and safe to do so. The following policy statement and guidelines are intended to assist players, parents and organisers to determine whether a youth player is eligible and capable of participating safely in open/adult competitions. POLICY I. Junior Players are defined as being under 18 years of age at the time of participation. II. Junior players are allowed to participate in Townsville Ultimate adult events, where their parents/guardians have read and agreed to adhere to the attached guidelines, and where approval is provided by the event Director/s. GUIDELINES Junior players (defined as under 18 years old) are allowed to participate in adult/open Townsville Ultimate competitions where: I. For Players 16 and 17 years old: a. Players must be physically capable of participating in the game (ie: be physically capable enough to actively participate in the game without undue risk to themselves or others) b. Parents/guardians are encouraged to be present at the game where-ever possible c. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for all player travel to and from the games. II. For Players under 16 years old: a. Players must be sufficiently physically capable to actively participate in the game without undue risk to themselves or others. b. Player capability must be assessed and approved for play by the League Director/s or TUDI administrators. c. Parents/guardians must be present at all games and be responsible for all player transport to and from games. III. Where there is any doubt or question about the capability of a youth player, the decision to admit that player is at the discretion of the event Director. AGREEMENT Townsville Ultimate events Townsville Ultimate events are those events directly managed by representatives of Townsville Ultimate Disc Inc. (TUDI). TUDI is an incorporated associatio
