1. Welcome to 5th Grade!The fifth grade team is excited to work with you this year as we watch your child grow and change physically, socially, emotionally, and academically.

2. The 5th grade team consists of 4 teachers:Mr. Matt CassertaoMrs. Kelly McIntoshMrs. Tracy NunanMrs. Stacey VenitCombined we have over 80 years of experience. We know how difficult it was for you to get out the door this evening and we appreciate you coming!

ExpectationsClassroom rules displayed in each roomHomeworkMonday thru Thursday:Spelling, writing, Some type of Reading, may have SS or Science Math- math fact fluency and a P.B page, SUMDOG Homework should not cause frustration. If after a serious attempt at the homework and frustration levels are maxed please put the homework away and send us a note.

7. CLASSROOM ECONOMYThe Primos Elementary Co.  Job: StudentDuties: Must be a respectful, responsible safe student.   Salary: Each student will earn $20.00 per week. Pay must be directly deposited into a bank account. Extra Pay positions:Employees will be given the opportunity for extra pay positions. (Example: Clerk- holds the classroom binder.)Each classroom should create a list of “Extra pay positions”.Extra pay positions will be offered on Monday of each week.   Extra pay will be $2.00 per week

Classroom Economy continued…..Rent: $65.00 per monthTotal mortgage cost: $500.00  Rent is due on or before the 15th of each month.  *Health Insurance:Employees may choose our Primos Health Insurance Plan. The cost of the plan is $2.00 per month. Employees who choose to not carry Health Insurance must pay $1.00 each time they need to visit the nurse. *Utilities:The Utility bill includes your electric, water and Internet cost. This bill will be due on our before the 15th of each month. Utility cost is $2.00 Fines: $5.00Fines will be issued in the form of a ticket. Teacher will prompt you to fill out a ticket and turn it in. Fines are due on payday.

9. CommunicationOpen communication between home and school will help to ensure that your child has a successful year.The planner is a perfect place to jot us a note. Please remember to sign the planner each night. 10. Highlights*Art Museum-Usually once in Oct. and once in Jan*5th grade Awards Ceremony- June 5th*5th grade picnic at Primos Pool- June 6th, 7th or 10thClass Trip: Adventure Aquarium June 6th or 10th

11. -Trip Cost and fundraising * Approximately $47.00 per student -You will be asked to fill out a commitment to chaperone paper and return it to school no later than Thursday September 13, 2018. -If you are willing to chaperone any of the trips all clearances need to be sent into school by Friday December 7, 2018.Aquarium*w/ successful fundraising we hope to bring down the cost of the trips. We need at least 10 chaperones- school bus-regular school hours

12. Commitment:“Commitment to Chaperone” In order to chaperone a Primos 5th grade trip I agree to ALL of the following: I am 21 years of age or older. I will arrive at Primos Elementary School on time to chaperone. I understand that only Primos 5th grade students, approved chaperones and teachers will be going on this trip. (no siblings) As a chaperone I understand that I will be responsible for my child and additional 5th graders. I understand that I will have to pay for the trip. I will return this paper signed by Thursday September 13, 2018. I will get the appropriate clearances to my child’s homeroom teacher by December 7, 2018 _________________________________________ ________________________________printed name of chaperone child’s name  ___________________________________________________________signature of chaperone
