Federal Highway Administration’s NH Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) Assists local road agencies, state Department of Transportation, and private contractors in maintaining an effective, efficient road transportation system Provide outreach and technical assistance, including a quarterly newsletter that reaches hundreds of NH public works professionals Home of New Hampshire Statewide Asset Data Exchange System (SADES)
Project Background Limited funding and increased number of bridges that need assistance through Municipal Bridge Program Municipalities track condition of other assets, so create a program that supports doing so for their bridge assets also Recognize that each municipality will have different capabilities for bridge maintenance, based on budget, staffing levels, and resources

The Current State of New Hampshire's Infrastructure Many towns don't have a bridge department, but rather a general Public Works department Bridge Maintenace often will be delegated to whoever has the time Few towns have an experienced bridge inspector or engineer on staff , or someone trained in procedures to maintain the life of their bridges

Future Direction of the Project T2 checklist serves as extensive BMP guide Develop a short document or checklist with 4 or 5 high-value 'Tasks' that Municipalities can handle doing UNH Lead effort to bring together all stakeholders involved with the project Eventually develop into tablet program or app for use by municipality
