He participated in over 10 solo contests in his high school career, including going to State 3 years in a row. In his senior year, he received 2nd place in state on Euphonium. His experiences at solo contest have helped him earn $14,500/year in scholarships from his school, George Fox University, alone. He expects more scholarships to come from his experiences.
