-Globulinsfrom human bloodProduct Number G 4386Storage Temperature 2-8 Product Descriptionmax: 280 nmExtinction coefficient: E = 13.8pI: 6.85, 6.95Immunoglobulin G has a molecular weight ofapproximately 155-160 kDa and is made up of twoheavy chains, each of about 55-60 kDa and 2 lightchains, each of about 25-28 kDa. On SDS-PAGEanalysis, the product runs at approximately 180 kDaon a non-reducing gel, but in the presence of reducingagent, the disulfide bonds that connect the light andheavy chains are broken and the subunits are seen. The raw material for this product is blood obtainedfrom a blood bank.Precautions and DisclaimerFor Laboratory Use Only. Not for drug, household orother uses.Preparation InstructionsGamma globulin solubility is very pH-sensitive; it is notvery soluble at the pI, but will be much more soluble atpH = pI ± 1. This product is also soluble in 0.9%sodium chloride at 50 mg/ml, yielding a slightly hazysolution. In addition, the product can be dissolved inHEPES buffer at pH 7.4-7.6.Storage/StabilityThis compound is very stable when stored frozen inaliquots at –20 References1.
