Overview of SAM
Slide3Why you need accessAny foreign company interested in doing business with the U.S. Government must maintain an active registration in SAM Portal at time of the offer submission and time of contract award. SAM registration is valid for one year. Companies are required to renew its registration annually to ensure account remains active.
Slide4No Registration CostsIt is FREE to register and to maintain your registration. There is only one authorized website for SAM.https://sam.gov Be cautious for third party companies claiming to represent SAM.gov, and/or that offer to help you register in SAM.gov for a fee. There are no third parties authorized to represent SAM.gov
Slide5What do You need to get started?Before start SAM registration procedure you need:DUNS and N-CAGE numbersEmail address associated with SAM account.
Access to that email to check receipt of confirmation notification to create your password.
Access to SMS, text messaging, or phone
call to
authenticate your account, you will receive a one time pass code via SMS or Phone Call.
Slide6DUNS & NCAGE NumbersDUNS Number: You need a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number to register your entity in SAM. DUNS numbers are unique for each physical location you want to register. It takes up to 5 business days to obtain an international DUNS number.(NCAGE) Code: You need NATO Commercial and Government Entity Code. Foreign entities must obtain a NCAGE code for each DUNS number they plan to register in SAM before you start the registration process. It takes up to 3 business days to obtain a NCAGE code.
Go to: http://fedgov.dnb.com/webform/index.jsp and select “Click here to request your DUNS Number via the web.
Go To

and start the “Request” procedure
*IMPORTANT* Company (Entity) info including (Name, addresses, POC names, email addresses, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and spacing. etc.) MUST match exactly in DUNS and NCAGE platforms. These system constantly share info. If a mismatch happens, it will cause a system error and result in significant delays. Please, be very precise when entering all data.

If new to the system, please follow the procedureIf you were previously registered on SAM, please, using your email address require a password reset.If new, select “Create an Account”

SAM requires a notarized letter formally appointing the authorized Entity Administrator for your entity before they will activate your SAM.gov

Slide12The letter must be received by mail within 30 days of activation or your registration will be cancelled. Entities may send the letter using certified mail to get the return receipt or use an express mail service if you wish to track the physical receipt of the letter. (Since there is no email confirmation of receipt, you may indeed want to send it return receipt requested, just so that
you can be confident that your letter
was received.)

Slide14The SAM Password expiration date is 90 days if you do not log in. After that you have to reset your password.Be aware that renewal is mandatory once a year. Renewal is an easy process, verify all information in the system is correct and process is completed.

You will receive an automatic daily update from the web site indicating the solicitation(s) posted by our Command/Site using the selected Federal Stock Code (J). It is recommended for all companies to regularly check EuroNECO to see if there are any requirements posted.The account in EuroNECO does not expire. Renewal is not needed.Registration to EuroNECO
