Command & ControlINTEGRATED ROLE PLAYERSAn integrated multi departmental approach is followed to ensure a safe and secure rail environment for all people in the Western CapeProvincial Commissioner: Lt General Jula, has appointed a Priority Committee chairperson and issued the brief mandate. Provided direction for deployment of SAPS Resources in line with the current situation affecting the rail environment. Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing: Major General Manci oversees the co-ordination of deployments of resources from within the Clusters to assist with internal role-players in the execution of operations. Priority Committee Chairperson: Brigadier Zandberg, convenes priority committee, issues taskings, planning committees and ensures that the plan is compiled and presented. Overall Commander: Brig Solucotho: Ensures that operations are conducted in terms of the plan, ensures the availability of resources from the RRPU environment and ensures that a multi-disciplinary approach is followed.Operational Commander: Col Ndzimela oversees and coordinates the execution of the plan and ensures that instructions regarding the operation are adhered to. Ensures that a targeted and geographical approach is followed.Tactical Commander of Cape Town Corridor: Lieutenant Colonel Tlhagadi ensures deployments are committed to the rail environment and oversees that tactical operational concept is executed accordingly. Conducts multi-disciplinary integrated Tactical operations directed at preventing and combating crime such as, contact crime, contact related crime, crime against woman and children, property related crimes and infrastructure crimes through operationalizing the concepts mentioned within the proactive pillar.

Tactical Commander of Philippi Corridor: Lieutenant Colonel Willemse ensures deployments are committed to the rail environment and oversees that tactical operational concept is executed accordingly. Conducts multi-disciplinary integrated Tactical operations directed at preventing and combating crime such as, contact crime, contact related crime, crime against woman and children, property related crimes and infrastructure crimes through operationalizing the concepts mentioned within the proactive pillar. Tactical Commander of Retreat Corridor: Lieutenant Colonel Meeth ensures deployments are committed to the rail environment and oversees that tactical operational concept is executed accordingly. Conducts multi-disciplinary integrated Tactical operations directed at preventing and combating crime such as, contact crime, contact related crime, crime against woman and children, property related crimes and infrastructure crimes through operationalizing the concepts mentioned within the proactive pillar.

Acts as a force multiplier during the conduct of multi-disciplinary integrated Tactical operations directed at preventing and combating crime such as, contact crime, contact related crime, crime against woman and children, property related crimes and infrastructure crimes through operationalizing the concepts mentioned within the proactive pillar. Tactical Commander of Mainline Company: Captain Ndaba ensures deployments are committed to the rail environment and oversees that tactical operational concept is executed accordingly. Acts as a force multiplier during the conduct of multi-disciplinary integrated Tactical operations directed at preventing and combating crime such as, contact crime, contact related crime, crime against woman and children, property related crimes and infrastructure crimes through operationalizing the concepts mentioned within the proactive pillar. Media Liaison: Capt Van Wyk addresses all media related enquiries.Legal services: Col Jojo is available to assist with any legal situations.

14. Command & ControlROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: POCC: Coordinates operations and ensures that all role players are informed of relevant information. Ensures the submission of feedbacks.CMOCC PRASA: In the event of an emergency all relevant role players are activated within the PRASA rail environment as well relay all the incidents through our Operational Centre. Operational Management Centre RRPU: coordinates, monitors and directs all deployments through the Operational Commanders in line with operational orders and administer all the timeline as well as log sheet movement. Provide daily (12 hour basis) feedback to the POCC.Cluster VISPOL: Provides visible policing surrounding the adjacent area of railway stations and to assist with monitoring high risk areas and routes. Crime Intelligence / CIMO: Gathers, evaluates and disseminates relevant information / intelligence and provide for early warnings regarding threats.Provincial Detectives: Established an arresting team and tracing team. Investigation of cases, Special operations regarding robberies and other organised crime, immediate support to arresting officers, Tracing of wanted suspects

15. Command & ControlROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (continued): PRASA: Deploys Metrorail Protection Services (MPS) staff and contract security members on identified hotspots and stations. Secure identified Stations and Hotspots with Protection Services and Contracted Security in order to safeguard assets within rail environment area. Metrorail Protection Service members patrols with vehicles and motorbikes at identified Stations and Hotspots. Deployment of Protection Service members on the train sets to prevent on board crime from taking place. Escorts the train drivers while conducting interchanging of locomotives. Monitors CCTV Cameras and reports any suspicious persons walking around identified stations and alert authorities and response teams should they detect any crime taking place within the railway corridors. Erect an outer perimeter fence as the defence line in order to prevent security breaches and regulate access and egress control measures.Provincial Flash: Assists visible policing and RRPU with the execution of visits to second hand dealers and bucket shops
