Goal Setting - Employees Updated June 2021 Page 1 of 5 Setting Goals As part of FGCU’s effort to simplify and streamline employee perf ormance feedback, employees and supervisors manage goal setting and performance evaluations in Workday . The Performance Management process consists of 3 steps: 1. Goal Setting 2. Mid - Year Review 3. Final Annual Review This Job Aid is designed to guide employees through the Goal Setting process. Each employee should enter 3 - 5 individual Goals in Workday , using the FY2 1/22 SMART Goals Template as a guide. Goal Setting is the foundation for your Mid - Year and Annual Reviews, establishing content on which performance is based. CREATE GOALS *

IMPORTANT! Do not click “ Submit ” until all Goals have been added * 1. In your Workday Inbox, click the Goal Setting item 2. In the opened item, read the instructions at the top of the screen, then click “C ontinue where I left off” Goal Setting - Employees Updated June 2021 Page 2 of 5 3. On the Goals screen, read the instructions at the top of the screen , then click the Add button *NOTE : the orange bar at the top of the screen will display your progress 4. To add a new Goal for the current year , complete the fields as follows: • Goal : name of Goal • Description : brief description of Goal • Due Date :

enter or use calendar icon to indicate Goal due date • Status : N/A - not used until Mid - Year Review When all fields are complete, click the check mark icon at the top right to save and close the Goal *NOTE: Each Annual R e view period is ind ependent and new goals are recommended for each R eview P eriod. You may click the “Use Existing Goal ” checkbox to import previous Goals to update /edit that are relevant to the current Review Period. * IMPORTANT! r Goal . 6. When all Goals have been added, click the Next button at the bottom of the screen . *NOTE : Each employee should have 3 - 5 Goals 7. Your Goals will display for review and any necessary edits. When you are ready to submit your Goals for review by your Manager, click Submit . * NOTE : Selecting Save for Later allows you to save your Goals and return later to complete or edit them before submitting Goal Setting - Employees Updated June 2021 Page 4 of 5 8. A submission confirmation message will display, indicating that your Goals have been submitted to your supervisor for review and approval; click Done

9. The event notification will appear in your Workday Inbox Archive , indicating completion of the Goal setting task . Status of the process will appear in the View Event pane at the right. *NOTE: Once your Manager has reviewed and submitted your Goals, the Overall Status will reflect “Successfully Completed ” VIEW GOALS Once your SMART Goals are entered in Workday, you may view them at any time. 1.
