Tool 1 – Identifying TNC Opportunities: Self assessment questions for LAGs Context • What is our vision for the socio - economic context and the political and institutional framework of our LAG territory? What contributio n can cooperation make to realis ing this vision? • What types of rural development challenges , socio - economic and/or environmental needs exist (including their causes and effects)? • Which of those challenges can be addressed using trans - national cooperation? In what way? 1. Co o peration diagno sis: transnational experiences of our area • What existing experiences of cooperation are there and what have they led to? • What are the main topics of transnational projects to date ? • Which local actors already have European contacts? • Which local actors have already been involved in acti vities with external partners? • Which local actors have the language skills we need? • Wh o are the foreign partners of our local authorities? • Has our LAG cooperated with LAGs from other countries? o With which LAGs, from which coun tries? o Was the experience positive? o What did we learn? 2. Project options • What do we need locally, what are the local expectations and what type of added - value / benefits should cooperation lead to? • Which local actors already have ideas concerning possible cooperation projects? • What is their motivation and capacity? • Wh at are the ir cooperation ideas for our area? • What type of project could be developed ( e.g. exchange of experiences, research, design and implementation of a joint solution to a common challenge)?
