What is Doorstep Arts?
Doorstep Arts is a Torbay-based, non-profit organisation who are working to promote the creative arts in their area.
Their drama groups range from the ages of 4-25. They write their own stories and songs, explore original ideas through the drama process and play games. The groups that hold are safe, educational spaces for children and young people to experiment with what it means to be an artist.
“At the heart of our work is a belief that every child and young person should have access to the arts, and that creative expression is a key life skill”. Slide3

Target Audience
There are two possible target audiences for my promotional video; parents of 4-14 year olds and 14-25 year olds. I know this because these are the ages that their theatre groups range from.
It is important that my video will grab the attention of these audiences, because if it does they may possibly be interested in joining Doorstep in the future. Slide7
Research/competitors
There aren’t really any ‘competitors’ for Doorstep, but there are similar kinds of groups around the Torbay area. These include; The Little Theatre, Torquay, Babbacombe Theatre, and The Pauline Quirk Academy.
I don’t feel like these are competitors because they all do their own thing, but all of the groups revolve around the same idea. Slide8

I have assigned roles for my promotional video to make it easier for my group so that we know what each of us is doing. It is important to do this as it will prevent people within the group from getting confused about what they need to do, and it won’t slow production down. Slide9

Legal and Ethical Considerations
Legal and ethical: As I am filming in a public space, I need to make sure that I have everyone’s permission to film.
Must avoid copyright: any music that I use for my video must be publically owned so I don’t get sued.
Health and Safety: When I get to my location I will carry out a risk assessment to ensure that everyone filming and involved is as safe as possible. Ethical: My group have made our own permission forms for the group members that we intend to film. We had to do this as some of them are under the age of 18, but it was important to get everyone’s permission, no matter their age so that we could go ahead and film. Slide12
