Dashboard – Overview

The Sustainability Performance Office (SPO) launched the DOE Sustainability Dashboard (Dashboard) to serve several functions for DOE sustainability data reporting.

Collect current year data, consistent with processes established in previous year’s reporting cycles.

Maintain historical data sets for each DOE site and national laboratory.Provide DOE sustainability personnel analytic tools for managing sustainability at their site or within their program.

The Dashboard has several pages for facility-related data that replicate FIMS fields. FIMS will continue to be the primary system for basic facility characteristics and FRPP fields (HPSB). The Dashboard will be updated with this information semi-annually to capture inventory changes and provide consistency between the systems.

A Request for Change to remove all non-FRPP fields from FIMS has been submitted. These fields consist of:

Sustainability Site Number

Goal Subject Facilities (GSF), Excluded Facilities (GSF), Non-Energy Consuming Facilities (GSF)Exclusion Part, Justification CommentMetersDashboard – FIMS Integration

Dashboard – Facility Goal Category

10

The Facility Goal Category page collects former FIMS information on Goal Subject Facilities (GSF), Excluded Facilities (GSF), Non-Energy Consuming Facilities (GSF), Exclusion Part, and Justification Comment used for the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and Water Use Intensity (WUI) goals along with EISA §432 information on Covered and benchmarking status. Slide11

Dashboard – EISA 432 Evaluations

11

The EISA §432 Evaluation page collects facility level energy and water use, evaluation date (previous, current, and future), evaluation level, and commissioning. Should a facility be benchmarked, the energy and water use will automatically be populated. Slide12

The Facility Metering Status’ Metering Status Report collects and maintains information on facility level utilities metered, type of meter, operation status, and justification for not metering.

The Facility Metering Status’ Metering Prioritization Report collects and maintains information on facility level metering prioritization, by utility type, for installing, upgrading, or replacing a meter.

The Green Buildings page displays facility compliance with the green building goal based on FIMS data. Official reporting will continue to be completed in FIMS, as these are FRPP fields. The Dashboard will be updated with FIMS information at least annually with the FRPP snapshot for goal progress and viewing.

Future Dashboard Developments

19

In the near future, Dashboard will include:

Additional pages for EISA §432 requirements such as benchmarking (Portfolio Manager integration), energy conservation measures, and measurement & verification (M&V).

More standard reports and enhanced analytics.

Improve overall usability based on continued site, program, and user feedback.Slide20
