se for students in Personalized Medicine, Al Jawhara Centre for Genetics and Inherited Diseases, CMMS, AGU, Bahrain Internal examiner of postgraduate Master students in Laboratory Medicine and PhD students in Molecular Medicine, Al Jawhara Centre for Genetics and Inherited Diseases, CMMS, AGU, Bahrain RESEARCH AREA OF INTEREST: • Molecular Anthropology : Investigation of the origin, relationships, history, structure and migration patterns of human populations and analyzing variation in mitochondrial DNA, Ychromosome DNA and/or autosomal DNA in either contemporary populations or ancient specimens. Mobile elements associated genetic variation : Determining the levels of human genomic variation associated with mobileelements that are unique to the human and in determining the impact that new mobile element insertions have upon the accumulation of other types of genetic diversity, and how gene conversion between mobile elements alters levels of single nucleotide polymorphism within the human genome. Human Population Genetics: Determining the levels of genetic variation within the Arab population, these studies involve the analysis of genetic disorders that are unique or found at a higher frequency in these populations.
