Vocab unit 6 (last unit of the semester!!) Please place sketchnotes on the bookshelf 

Immutable (adj) – unchanging, permanent ​Your DNA is an immutable part of you that cannot be altered by anyone

Stringent (adj) – strict, harsh, severe ​I was so happy to move out of my parents’ house and escape their stringent rules.

Desecrate (v) – to disrespect a holy place ​If you desecrate the veterans’ memorial, you will be arrested .

Fortuitous (adj)– happening by chance or luck; accidental in a positive way Mark proved to be fortuitous by selecting all six winning lotto numbers.​

Supercilious (adj)– conceited, arrogant, superior to others ​You look down on people with your supercilious attitude.

Virtuoso (adj) – an accomplished musician ​Ruben is a musical virtuoso who runs his own school of music.

Apathy (n) – a lack of emotion or caring ​A boy shows apathy towards his schoolwork by never completing it.path=pathos which is emotion 

Didactic (adj) – instructive ​Fiction books are not meant to be didactic, but they are quite informative.Dads are very instructive 

Peremptory (adj)– demanding and leaving no choice, required  ​The general gave the troops a peremptory order they had to obey.At a prep school they HAVE to wear a uniform 

Extraneous (adj) – unnecessary or irrelevant ​Extra=unnecessary ​​If you want to get a good night sleep, you remove any extraneous light
