3. LQXF Reaction MaterialsLQXF Coil Reaction at Fermilab, Fred Nobrega35/6/2014 Quad Development Workshop - BNLSame as SQXF, .13 mm ThickSame as SQXF reaction.• Mica Paper, .13 Thick.• S2 Fiberglass Cloth Hexcel #4522 with F81 Silane Finish, .13 Thick Laser cut 2 at once. • 2 sheets fused together along edges. • Cut edges don’t fray as when cut by hand.

4. LQXF Prep for ReactionSame as SQXF:Base plate and mandrel blocks laid out on assembly table.Cured coil lifted from shipping fixture and placed into reaction mandrel blocks on temporary shims.Outer layer covered with fiberglass cloth and mica paper.Reaction liner, form blocks and top plate installed.Fixture bolted closed, flipped over and opened.Inner layer and mid-planes covered with mica paper.Mid-plane shims installed.Reaction mandrel blocks and base plate installed.Fixture bolted closed, end plates installed.Fixture moved to oven for reaction.LQXF Coil Reaction at Fermilab, Fred Nobrega45/6/2014 Quad Development Workshop - BNL

5. LQXF Reaction ProcedureArgon Flow:Independent Argon flow to oven and to reaction fixture.Small positive pressure in oven relative to outside atmosphere.Fixture at positive pressure relative to internal oven atmosphere.Purge for several hours before start cycle:300 SCHF Oven / 50 SCFH FixtureContinuous flow throughout cycle:50 SCFH Oven / 25 SCFH FixtureCycle requires ~8 liquid Argon cylinders (180 liters each)Monitor / Log Data:Oven TemperatureFixture TemperatureOven Argon flow rateFixture Argon flow rateOven pressureFixture pressureOven Argon Cylinder weightFixture Argon Cylinder weightLQXF Coil Reaction at Fermilab, Fred Nobrega55/6/2014 Quad Development Workshop - BNL
