Floor 1
Floor 1 is used for work
purposes. The governors Office, lienutent
governors and the staff all work there. It is only for the executive branch. Slide4
The Capitol is located in downtown Raleigh near The science museum and Marbles.Slide5
GraniteAfter the 2
nd building burned down NC decided to be different and build the Capitol out of granite instead of bricks like most people build their buildings of.

Secret rooms and escape tunnelsAt the capitol building there are two secret rooms and a escape tunnel.
FLOOR 2
Floor 2 is used as a museum for the Judicial and Legislative branch who now work across the street.Slide7
George Washington statueThe people at the capitol decided they needed a statue. They decided it would be of George Washington. Since there were no marble carvers around they hired one in Italia. When the pictures got to Italia you could only see the head. So when the statue came back to America George Washington was dressed in Roman war clothes. Slide8
