MONTHLY SAFETY TOPIC – January 2021 About SIPE and Our New Logo The Schools Insurance Program for Employees (SIPE) Board of Directors approved a new logo for SIPE on December 10, 2020. To understand why the logo was updated, it may help to know more about SIPE. provides a self-insured workers' compensation program and risk management services to 12 member districts. Our membership consists of ten public school districts, county office of education, and community college district in San Luis Obispo County. Each member that serves on the SIPE Board of Directors. The SIPE Board has an elected president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer who serves as an executive The Executive Director oversees various departments and committees that focus on workers' compensation, risk management, safety, and loss control, with the goal of providing stable and reasonable insurance costs and expedient nt Committee works closely with the Ex ablish an annual budget for research and SIPE offers a multitude of services geared to provide a qualth and safety of employees and protects the assets of the member school districts. We are introducing SIPE staff Executive Director Garth Maijala, Industrial Hygiene Coordinator Mike Bruffey, and Administrative Assistant Cheryl Lunsford. Welcome new Safety Coordinator Molly Hurst and a new logo! Our staff working for SIPE and our members. The staff developed the new logo that symbolizes the organization and its role for our JPA members. Twelve stars for each member district. A star may be regarded as a symbol of protection and goodness acy and an icon of American education The 12-page book is representing a schoolbook of kan iconic feature of original schoolhouses The shield is an icon for protection, defense, and safety SIPE is our agency acronym, which is used more frequently than our full name The San Luis Obispo County Map is on the face of the schoolhouse
