W alk ing into class was the strangest thing! It all s tarted when I turned the corner . For one, I wasn ’ t met by the typical blaring music which was bizarre . It also made me realize just how much I enjoyed our “ song of the day ” . Then walking into a lit room added to the “ off ” feeling . ( W as the light supposed to hurt my eyes?! ) I proceeded to find a seat next to Katel yn Wea ver who was exclaiming she “ D idn’t know this room had lights! ” Loni followed up by chanting , “T urn off the lights ! I t’s a wa ste of elec tricity! ” A lexis was quick to chime in , in mutual agreement. Luckily Andy wa s there to take action and turn off the lights. I don’t know if we would have made it a full hour at that rate! The lights were the o nly thing anyone could focus on . A fter those chaotic few minutes , the bell rang and Mr. B rown proceeded to call class to order by tak ing roll. There were no s cribe notes presented , so I guess that means I am presenter number two today. I ’ m sure Amanda did a wonderful job on hers though ! Bypassing notes we moved straight into finding t he other forms of our quack words for a little over ten minutes . Here is a quick recap of what we have accomplished in our Quacktrice packet thus far : Quack Word Definition Part of Speech Other Forms Avarice Greed for money or riches Noun avaricious avariciously avariciousness Squander To waste Verb squandered squandering squanderer Penurious Stingy, relating to great poverty Adjective penuriously penuriousness Debunk To prove wrong Verb debunker Eccentric Unconventional; a little kooky Adjective eccentrically eccentricity Hopefully that chart helps you in case you missed class or weren’t able to find all of the different forms. The rest of the hour was dedic ated to reading A Narrative of the Capacity by Mary Rowlandson out of our American lit erature book . There were seven questions that correlated with the text that are due today. I hope you all have it completed! !!!New Information!!! Since Primeau gave us PPI kids th e worksheet earlier in the week and told us to have it completed , I was able to focus all my attention on scribing although I think I may have wrote a little too much. Some things I overheard (yes I was sort of eavesdropping but it ’ s okay because I’m scribe) was Ab bie noting just how hard our A&P test was which really freaked me out. Alexis out of the blue saying “Can you punch someone and give them a Charlie horse??” along with our pods constant meltdowns and stress filled behavior (mostly d ue to me and Katelyn — which cont inued throughout the entire day ) . As I was leaving class I co ntemplate d that this Friday we wouldn’t get our customary advice , but Mr. Primeau is just too go od! On the board he had the following written , “Stay out of fast cars! Nothing good happens after midnight!” H e even went further to inclu de a diagram of a hand (for the high - fives we typically exchange while exit the class ) that looked something like this : Happy Friday Since I feel that my notes are super short (due to the lack of class discussions, etc . ) , I am includ i ng a few reminders and links to past assignments just in case anyone has further questions. I am also including them because I am terrible with computers (as Katelyn Arnett pointed out i n her spectacular video) a nd I need to practice creating hyper links ! I hope they work — fingers crossed! Alright that’s all I have to say. Good luck to our next scribe and have a great day! : D
