Slide13Each Cacao bean pod contains 20 to 60 reddish-brown cacao beans up to an inch long, cacao beans are used to make cocoa and chocolate.They grow best in humid conditions with regular rain, away from wind.
Slide14Bananas are one of the most popular fruits in the world. Over 55 million tons of bananas are eaten each year! Banana plants grow in high temperatures and rainfall. There can be up to 240 bananas on each plant!
Slide15Two small coffee beans are found in each berry. Coffee plants can live up to 100 years old. This plant grows best in the shade and with regular rainfall.
Slide16The brazil nut tree is one of the tallest trees in the rainforest. During January and February, its fruit which is the size of a baseball, ripens and falls to the ground reaching a speed of 50mph! Inside there are up to 21 nuts.
Slide17Sugarcane needs lots of heat and water to grow. Sugarcane plants can grow up to 13 feet tall! The juice from the sugarcane plant is taken out which is then turned into sugar.
Slide18Mango trees can grow up to 100 feet tall! These trees grow best with lots of sunlight. The fruit takes up to 6 months to ripen.
