What is an Achievement Measure?
The achievement measure component of the TEM evaluation is comprised of various selections that measure student achievement
in an academic year.
The agreed-upon measure (teacher and principal agree) should be a measure aligned as closely as possible to the educator’s primary responsibility.
The District has set ambitious score ranges for each selection using District data alongside AMOs assigned by the State to set baseline data for Level 3
Achievement scores range from
1
(significantly below expectations) to
5 (significantly above expectations). A score of 3 is ‘ meeting expectations’.Slide5

offered at/associated
with
the school in which the
teacher is assigned
. If this is not possible

measure
or a history teacher selecting ELA).
The selected measure must be a school-wide measure.Slide8
Achievement Measure Review Criteria
Appropriateness to grade assignment The selected measure must be closely associated with the grade

.
Pre-K–2 teachers

or any
other measures specifically associated with early grades education.
Grades 3-8 teachers may use grade specific TCAP data, school-level TCAP or TVAAS data, TCAP-only school-wide measures, district-administered grades 3-8 assessment measures, and other measures specifically associated with grades 3-8 education.High school teachers and eighth grade Algebra teachers may use grade-specific EOC data, school-level EOC and TVAAS data, EOC-only school-wide measures, district-administered high school assessment data, graduation rate, and ACT.Teachers who serve multiple grade bands
(e.g., a teacher serving at a 6-12 school) may choose from any of the grade band categories in which they fit.Slide9
Growth Measures
Educators must select a TVAAS growth measure for the Growth component of TEM (including teachers in tested subject areas or those who use a growth portfolio model). This selection will comprise the growth component of the evaluation for anyone who does not generate an individual growth score.
