The Center was founded on the principle of sup-porting projects that are organized by volunteers. Our Directorsare all volunteers as well as our project organizers. We under-stand that the community depends on volunteer projects toimprove our local quality of life. This past year we worked hardto develop the funding to launch the Kohala Welcome Centerright here in our old Fukada General Store building. Volunteershave helped us design the interior visitor corridor and exterioradditions as well as construct a new outside deck with publicrestrooms--a first in Kohala! Twice a year, dozens of volunteersfrom the Seniors Club and Kohala residents as well as snow-birds join forces in our office to stuff, label and sort thousandsof newsletters so each and every resident and donor receives anupdate on our work and our projects. Volunteers have helped us with major officeprojects including cleaning and painting. We are grateful for all of you and we proudly list our current volunteers below.We applaud you and most importantly, we thank you. Without the strong activespirit of volunteerism, the Resource Center would not exist today. Volunteers, you are the pride and the driving spirit that makes Kohala so wonder-ful! Inside you will find a list of the very diverse and meaningful projects served bythe Center.
