4. Vi-CELL BLU IntroductionAdvantages of the Vi-CELL BLU:Faster analysis: 130 secLess volume: 200 µlSOP with fully automated routines incl. cleaning24 position carousel96 well plate loaderWin 10 OS integrated computerTouchscreen interface

5. Vi-CELL BLUTrypan blue methodPrinciple:Live cells with intact cell membranes exclude dyes like trypan blue cells look translucent green circledead cells allow the dye to penetrate through their damaged membranecells look darkred circle

8. Vi-CELL BLUOptical sensorVi-CELL XRVi-CELL BLUThe larger sensor size of the Vi-CELL BLU and optical configuration results in approximately 1.7 fold greater imaged area resulting in more objects captured per image. Coupled with the faster acquisition speed of the camera it is possible to image 100 frames in less time that required by the Vi-CELL XR. This results in increased statistical confidence in the results.

9. Vi-CELL BLUResolutionWhile the physical size of the images from the Vi-CELL BLU are only 1.7x larger they pack almost twice as many pixels into that space. This higher pixel density produces a much smoother gradation of object edges making for a more accurate segmentation of object boundaries and is particularly advantageous for declustering operations.Vi-CELL BLUVi-CELL XR

17. Vi-CELL BLUCell TypeCell typeMinimum threshold for detected cells (lowest 2 µm)Maximum threshold for detected cells (highest 60 µm)Number of images (recommended 100)Defines the sharpness of the separation of the cell from the background. Can be used to reject debris (least circular=0, perfectly circular =1)Increases the ability to detect cells that are clumped together. Default setting is Medium.Number of resuspension cycles. Default setting is 3.Defines the brightness degree from which a cell is defined as a vital cell. 55% is a typical value.Defines the size of the inner bright area defining a vital cell. 5 – 10% are typical valuesNumber of mixing cycles with trypan blue and cell suspension.
