1. Pirates! The MusicalDear Students and Parents of 5th Graders,I want to express how very proud I am of our talented students who tried out for speaking parts! It takes a LOT of courage to get up in front of your peers and perform, so bravo to all who auditioned! Unfortunately, there are only a limited number of speaking parts, and I assure you, the competition was tough! In the event that your student was not assigned a speaking part, PLEASE do not let it discourage them from attending the program. Every voice is vital to a successful performance, and the chorus/support crew is just as important than the leads are!Congratulations to the following students who have been cast in the following speaking parts:Stowaway: Sebastian SanchezStowaway Understudy*/No Beard 2: Destiny SandersonKing Of The High C’s: Jacob JamesKing of The High C’s Understudy*/Pirate 2: Noah Smith Blackbeard: Billy Harman Prisoner 1: Ryan Farmer No Beard 3: Meg Lewis Bluebeard: Kyricc Borgmann Prisoner 2: Kevin Rodriguez No Beard 4: Rachel Bryant Yellowbeard: Karla Tejeda Prisoner 3: Jara Davis Pirate 1: Selena Delgado Whitebeard: Annie Hawkins Prisoner 4: Maddie Andrews Pirate 2: Noah Smith Greenbeard: Sean Woods Prisoner 5: Ben Brewer Pirate 3: Cierra Hernandez Redbeard: Anna Morgan Prisoner 6: Savannah Keller Pirate 4: Trae Harmon Purplebeard: Natalie Brewer No Beard 1: Haley Cason Brownbeard: Celeste Claro No Beard 2: Destiny Sanderson *Understudy parts are cast in the event that the lead becomes ill and cannot attend.**Non-Speaking Prisoners: Max Alford, Annalisa Arredondo, Rachel Bryant, Zacurian Butler, Selena Delgado, Daniel Diaz, & Keaton NelsonPractice tracks and scripts can be found on the CSES website  Faculty & Staff  Music/Art – Katie Porter  Pirates! The MusicalRemember, “Pirates! The Musical” will be performed on Thursday May 10th 2012 in the CSES cafeteria. The performance will begin at 6:30 pm. Students with speaking parts need to arrive at 6:00, and all other performing students need to arrive and check in with me (Mrs. Porter) no later than 6:15. Students are asked to dress according to their character:Bearded Pirates: make a beard in the appropriate color with pirate-like clothingStowaway: a polo shirt and jeans – s/he wants to be a pirate, but isn’t just yet!King Of The High C’s: a captain’s outfit, or something similar to an Elvis costumePrisoners: “dirty,” ragged clothes, in gray, black, or brownAll other pirates & the Chorus of No-Beards: (non-speaking parts) ideas include eye patch, hooks for hands, “skull caps,” baggy pants with patches, blouse-type shirts, etc.Again, ALL students should be proud of their audition performance and excited about participating in the program as it is one of their last experiences of their elementary "career," and I hope you will praise them for their bravery and talent, and encourage them to continue on their musical paths. If you have any questions, you can email me at kporter@ems-isd.net or call 817-847-8700 ext.2154.Bravo, and on with the show!Katie PorterFine ArtsComanche Springs Elementary
