About us - HUHA is one of New Zealand's leading Animal Welfare Charities. We run three rescue shelters, two opportunity stores in the Wellington Region as well as our gorgeous ethical gift store. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animal s nationally. The proceeds fro m our retail stores help us save lives every day. The Ethical Gift Stor e & Online Manager will be responsible for – 1. Being an enthusiastic HUHA ambassador – demonstrating an understanding of HUHA and displaying passion for the organization and the Ethical Gift Store. 2. Ensuring the retail environment is welcoming and that staff are trained to greet all customers instore , over the phone and online promptly and professionally. 3. Frequently source and bring in new vegan items consistent with HUHA Ethical Gift Store standards. Paying attention to new season trends 4. Work with HUHA ’s CEO and manufacturers to create new and exciting ethically sourced HUHA branded stock. 5. Grow wholesale opportunities for HUHA branded products throughout NZ. 6. Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and manage expenses to budget. 7. Lead advertising and promotion of the physical and online store through social media and other channels. 8. Make decisions on pricing of merchandise. 9. L ead the staff in merchandising the stock in an attractive and creative way to create an enjoyable and interesting sho pping experi ence for customers. 10. lmly, professionally, and promptly Manage the Shopify and Facebook pages for the store - keeping them fresh and engaging f or customers . 11. Lead decisions about how to promote merchandise – seasonal sales, clearance, bundling, and other promotional strategies – based on sales trends. The Ideal Candidate will – • Have a genuine interest in and passion for HUHA and the organisation’s work. • Bring experience working in a retail and customer - facing environment with a friendly and customer - focused approach . • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee all managerial and operational aspects of running the Ethical Gift Store & Online Store including stocktaking, banking/cash management, rostering, ordering supplies & merchandise, keeping Shopify fresh and updated, continuously refining scripts and overseeing quality control of staff’s email and call enquiry handling • Have experience overseeing communications (phone, email and social media) in a professional capacity and a real desire and sense of urgency to help solve problems for people and animal s. • Have experience managing people - you’ll oversee 2 part time retail assistants. • Be a self - motivated and proactive problem - solver who genuinely seeks win - win s olutions for people and animals. • Be creative.
