Kori Milroy teaches science at Skinner W
Kori Milroy teaches science at Skinner West Classical School, a Chicago Public School on the city’s Near West Side. She is a passionate advocate for science education, believing that scientific thinking empowers young people to satisfy their own curiosities about nature. Kori studied elementary education at Loyola University Chicago, where she first developed a real love for science, especially human evolution. She later attended graduate school at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she earned a Master of Science Education concentrating in physical science. Her studies at IIT inspired a love of space science that continues to inform her teaching. She has twice participated in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program, helping send student microgravity experiments to the International Space Station. She has previously served as an Innovation Fellow at the Art of Science Learning at the Museum of Science and Industry, and recently served on the CPS Teacher Advisory Council.
