E’esadam E-hemapaidag (Farmers’ Gathering): Development of direct producer-to-consumer markets on the Tohono O’odham Nation, Arizona (2019 FMPP)Objective 1: Conduct Market analysis and strategic planning, develop marketing campaign for direct producer-to-consumer market opportunities on the TO Nation; Objective 2: Start a farmers market in Sells, the center of the Tohono O’odham Nation;Objective 3: Recruit, educate and train local farmers, ranchers, wild foods gatherers and value-added producers, including new, beginning and/or socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers; Objective 4. Recruit consumers in support of direct producer-to-consumer markets, including educational opportunities (food demos, cooking classes).
