NESA has developed Achievement Level Descriptions based on the Australian Core Skills Framework
The Achievement Level Descriptions describe typical student performance in reading, writing and numeracy at ACSF Levels 1-4Students’ reading, writing and numeracy test responses are assigned a level, from 1 to 4
Reading and numeracy test items are assigned electronically

Slide11How will test results be reported?
HSC minimum standard
After a student completes an online test, the school receives the result which then can be made available to the student
NESA will provide information to schools on the performance of students in the minimum standard tests that is useful to teachers, but does not compromise the security of test questionsSchools can continue to track student progress towards meeting the HSC minimum standard via the Test Administration Centre on Schools Online and via the Results Analysis Package (RAP)
Students will be able to track their own progress via their Students Online account
Slide12Where will students sit the online tests?
HSC minimum standard
The HSC minimum standard tests will be sat at school
The tests are browser based and work with all common browsers and configurations A locked-down browser provides a secure environment for all students, no matter what computer they are using is used for the testsSchools will advise students about the room and whether they will use a school computer or their own device
Schools will enter students for the tests through Schools Online
Schools will arrange supervision for students sitting the tests
Slide13Malpractice and breach of test rules
HSC minimum standard
Schools must inform NESA of any instance of suspected malpractice or breaches of test rules as soon as possible after the test has been completed
Results from a test where a student has been found to have engaged in malpractice or a serious breach of test rules will not be used to demonstrate achievement of the HSC minimum standard
Slide14When can students sit the online tests?
