Statistics:
In 2009 37% of the population in Mecosta County were considered to be obese.
54% of females and 59% of males are getting a sufficient amount of physical activity.

Provide children with a safe and fun learning environment
Promoting an active nutritious lifestyle at a young age will empower children to form lifelong healthy habits
Teach children the benefits of creating a well-balanced diet, encourage respectful interactions

Provide elementary students with the opportunity to improve overall fitness and nutrition
Build Mentorship between college students at Ferris State University and elementary students at a local school

SMART Goals
Goal 1: To provide an after school program for 3rd-5th graders every tuesday from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. The program will allow students to participate in fun, physical activities and educational demonstrations on healthy, kid friendly snack preparation.Slide14
