The Bubonic Plague originated in China in 1348. Also called the Black Death ,it caused many black freckle like spots to appear on the body. Most people who got it died in 2 to 7 days. The disease was carried rat fleas on the back of black

it ended in 1350, it killed an estimated 75 to 200 million people.Slide2

Symptoms

Fever of 101 to 105

Freckle like spots and rashes

Painful aching of the joints

Vomiting and nausea Slide3

Remedies

People thought the disease was spread through the air so they burnt juniper, laurel, pine, lemon, rosemary, camphor, and sulfur to wart off deadly

vapors.

One town moved all the sick to isolation.

One man sat 2 fires to kill off the bacteria in the air.Slide4

Spread

The rat flee was the main cause of the plague rapid spread. By 1350 it had spread the plague to all of Europe and parts of Asia. Slide5

By 1350 the black death had killed an estimated 75 to 200 million people. That is 30% to 60% of Europe’s population . Slide7
