RULES The Snake Island Nanaimo Regatta will be governed by the rules as dened in the Racing Rules of Sailing, 2013 to 2016. PIYA Category Nearshore will be observed for PHRF divisions. PIYA Category Nearshore will be observed for one-design classes or safety regulations particular to that class. One-design class rules will apply to boats in one-design divisions. The rules of PHRF-NW will apply to handicap divisions. ADVERTISING – Shall be restricted to Category C. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY This regatta is open to all keelboats, multihulls and one design classes eligible for a PHRF-NW rating. One-design divisions will be created if an adequate number of boats apply to compete in each division. The registration committee will determine how many boats may comprise a division. Boats with a PHRF-BC rating will be accepted. Ratings will be adjusted to conrm to PHRF-NW. Boats without a rating certicate may apply for a single-event certicate from PHRF-NW for a fee of $15 at the registration desk. Proof of liability insurance coverage of $1,000,000 per event is required. RACING AREA AND COURSES Racing will take place in the outer Nanaimo Harbour and nearby waters. Longer courses may be provided to faster PHRF classes. 5. RRS Appendix A low-point scoring will be used. PHRF-NW divisions will be scored using the time-on-time formula. 6. FEES The entry fee for all classes is $85 per boat. Entry fees may be remitted by PayPal via the Nanaimo Yacht Club SIN Website. The entry fee includes dinner and breakfast wristband for the skipper, sponsor swag and welcome information. A discount of $20 is available to boats purchasing registration prior to May 30, 2015. Returning for 2015: Weekend meal wristbands are available for $20, providing two breakfasts and one dinner. They may be prepaid with your registration. SCHEDULE OF RACING EVENTS AND REGISTRATION Friday, July 3: Registration and check-in at NYC 1600 to 2000. Party at the NYC Clubhouse. $6 burgers are available. Saturday, July 4: Registration for latecomers continues Saturday, 0700 to 0800. Skippers Meeting: 0830 Saturday, July 4. Saturday July 4: Race Day One. Fleets are to make their way to their respective starting locations for a 1025 warning. Sunday, July 5: Race Day Two, eets are to make their way to their respective starting locations for a 1025 warning. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instructions will be available at registration and on the web by July 1, 2015. 9. Prizes will be awarded to competitors placing rst through third in all divisions including the awarding of the Basil Hobbs Memorial Cup, awarded to the boat with the lowest score in the regatta.
