CORI Forms needed ASAP

www.westwoodbasketball.org

Forms must be completed prior to 1

st practiceAll Head and Assistant coaches will need to complete a CORI background checkMust have 2 adults at all practicesDo not leave any child unattended following game or practice. Be smart about coaching actions and know your players will take on the personality of the coach. If you act like an ass, you are setting a really bad example for your players and that lead to safety concerns.Step in if a fellow coach is losing their cool with a player, parent, referee, or fanSlide5

Mouth Guards

WBA strongly encourages all players to use mouth guards at practices and games. Coaches can mandate this on an individual team basis, but the WBA will not mandate mouth guards in order to play.

Metro West and MIAA also strongly encourage the use of mouth guards by all players.Slide7

Metro West Update –

TEMP DATE

With Christmas

and New Year’s Day both on a Sunday we would lose two weeks of game

dates. In the schedule, week 4 game will simply be a placeholder for the opponent.  Each town will then have the option to re-schedule that game at a convenient time for both teams.  The game will be on the schedule from day one, teams can play that game as early as November 28th all the way until Feb 26th.  If a mutual time cannot be determined the game will not count for or against either team.  In some cases you may just decide to cancel the game and in some cases a team would already be scheduled with a BYE.  During these re-scheduled games the officials would only charge $40.00 per game even if it was a single game.  Slide9
