GVA growth in LLEP areas increased from £18b 2013 to nearly £23b in 2017
In 2017 there were 42,440 businesses in the LLEP area compared to
33,070
in 2013
In 2016 there were 6,710 business start-ups. A rise of 33% since 2014 (5,045)
In 2016 there were 2,125 more business starts than closures

an increase of 51.8% since 2014 (1,400)
2 year business survival rates in 2016 were 3,905 of the 5,045 business starts in 2014. This represents 77.4% compared with only 75.8% in England
Of the 7,610 new businesses in 2016, 95.4% were micro businesses (7,260)

Release all of the remaining funding in a single Call for £9,836,743 (£9.83m) – this will allow the average 12 months it takes for projects to come to contract before the Government’s deadline of March 2019.
